Metropolitan Jonah discusses the Gospel of John chapter 18, the first part of the account of Christ's Passion. Topics discussed include: 
(1) From the Fathers: Jesus enters the garden to free us from death, which came to Adam in a garden; 
(2) Thursday night: Last supper vs Passover meal, East vs West; 
(3) Jesus protects His disciples. Only two stay with Jesus, Peter and John, and Peter betrays him. The Roman Church does not make much of Peter's betrayal;
(4) I AM (He). Jesus is in control, and goes VOLUNTARILY to His self-offering. Peter tries to protect Him from this. Nevertheless, Peter does use the sword to protect Jesus, not himself;
(5) Like our Lord, we must put up with unjust injuries and show mercy, thereby turning others to good;
(6) Christ leads Pilate and us to distinguish and choose between the kingdoms of this world and the Kingdom of God;
(7) The false and corrupt High Priest questions the True High Priest;
(8) "My Kingdom is not of this world [... or] My servants would fight. In v37 Christ affirms His Kingship;
(9) The Ethiopians regard Pilate as a Saint --- that he repented and converted to Christianity after the Crucifixion and was martyred.
