"Suffering produces patience” (Romans 5: 3)

Meditation:
Life gives us a great lesson in patience. No matter in which school we learn it, we must always be ready to accept it. We need patience more than anything else in life. Many people lose everything because they do not have enough patience. “By your patience save your souls” (Luke 21: 19), said the Lord.

Truly, we sometimes perish because of our lack of patience, whereas when we endure trials patiently and humbly, we emerge victorious. So it is worthwhile to learn patience, since without this we will not achieve anything in life. The difficult school of need and suffering teaches us patience.

In submitting us to this trial, the Lord does not want us to complain and groan, but to praise the Almighty. They say that certain birds are locked up in darkness so that they learn new songs. The Lord deprives many believers of light and happiness for a while in order to teach them patience. We involuntarily admire patient people without suspecting at what price they receive this precious gift, which we must strive for, even at the cost of all sorts of deprivations and tribulations.

“Let patience finish its work so that you may be completely perfect, not lacking anything” (James 1: 4)

«От скорби происходит терпение» (Рим. 5:3)

Жизнь дает нам великий урок терпения. В какой бы школе мы ни учились ему, мы всегда должны его принимать с готовностью. Терпение нам нужнее всего в жизни. Многие теряют все, потому что у них не хватает терпения. «Терпением вашим спасайте души ваши» (Лк. 21:19) – сказал Господь.

Действительно, мы подчас погибаем от нашего нетерпения, тогда как, перенося испытание терпеливо и кротко, мы становимся победителями. Итак, стоит того – научиться терпению, так как без этого мы ничего не достигнем в жизни. Тяжелая школа нужды и страдания учит терпению.

Подвергая нас такому испытанию, Господь не хочет, чтобы мы жаловались и стонали, но чтобы воспевали хвалу Всевышнему. Говорят, некоторых птичек запирают в темноте, чтобы они научились новым песням. Многих верующих Господь лишает на время света и радости, чтобы научить их терпению. Мы невольно любуемся терпеливыми людьми, не подозревая, какою ценою достается им этот драгоценный дар, которого мы должны добиваться, хотя бы путем всевозможных лишений и невзгод.

«Терпение же должно иметь совершенное действие, чтобы вы были совершенны во всей полноте, без всякого недостатка» (Иак. 1:4).
