Topics include: 
(1) The comfort (paraclesis) and hope that the Holy Spirit brings in suffering, and how we can comfort others who suffer because of our own experience in suffering; 
(2) Paul has a clear conscience that he behaved among the Corinthians with simplicity and godly sincerity, not according to "earthly wisdom". With simplicity, not with duplicity ("yes" and "no") nor flattery (withholding part of the truth); 
(3) the importance of forgiving those who have fallen into sin and restoring them to fellowship; 
(4) Paraphrasing a saying by Origen: "Light a censor in your heart to Christ".
