The Book of Revelation, Part 9: Chapter 6

Topics include:
(1) On the various forms of Scriptural interpretation: literal, historical, moral, typological, allegorical, anagogical, and symbolic; On historical types, present antitypes, and escatological archetypes. This is the Greek use of "anti", meaning instead of the historical type, as also in antichrist: instead of Christ, i.e., a false Christ.; 
(2) On "prophecy", the speaking forth of God's word, not just prediction. Often the text also has a contemporaneous meaning to the hearers/readers at the time is was spoken/written; 
(3) On the context of the destruction of the second temple in Jerusalem, it's timing with regard to the Book of Revelation, and it's foreshadowing of the escatological destruction of all creation; 
(4) On the Book of Revelation providing interpretation for Old Testament prophets, and also an interpretation of Jesus' sayings (the seven Seals parallel the Synoptic Apocalypses, e.g., Mark 13); 
(5) The first seal ... the white rider is most likely the antichrist, deceiving the nations, leading them away from God, and conquering the faithful of the world; 
(6) On the fifth seal ... the Book of Enoch references a quota of martyrs; 
(7) On the parallel of the first six seals with the Apocalyptic passage in mark 13; 
(8) On the need to watch and STAY AWAKE!
