The Rules of Great Lent: Fish is permitted on the Feasts of the Annunciation to the Most-holy Theotokos (April 7) and the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem (April 28). Wine and oil are permitted on all Saturdays and Sundays of Lent, except for Great and Holy Saturday, when only wine is permitted; on March 22, the Commemoration of the 40 Martyrs of Sebaste, on April 17 and 18, the Eve and Day of the Great St Andrew Standing, and on May 2, Great Thursday. Wine but not oil is permitted on April 19, the eve of the Saturday of the Akathist, and on May 4, Great Saturday. On all other days of Great Lent, we abstain from fish, wine, and oil.
