Meditation on Scripture: 1Peter 5: 10 “The God of All Grace”

“The God of all grace” (1Peter 5: 10)

Meditation:
In these words we find one of the names of God. In Holy Scripture we find many names of the Deity. He is the God of peace, the God of hope, the God of all comfort; here the apostle calls Him the God “of all grace”. This word covers all our needs. “God is able to make all grace abound in you” (2 Cor. 9:8)

What is demanded of us is submission to His will and trust in His love and mercy, in order to always be at the source of His infinite, never-ending and all-conquering grace. None of us knows what grace is until we learn to depend on the all-forgiving love of the Lord for us in Christ Jesus.

Grace is undeserved mercy. It gives us that which we are unworthy of. It surpasses all merit and saves us apart from our deserts. But it also answers all our needs and fills our emptiness.

Grace acts in us not only when, burdened by sin and sorrow, we come to Him for the first time, but throughout our lives. Every hour of our lives when, converted and reconciled, we walk in the light of His Countenance, as members of the great family of the Heavenly Father, His grace flows unto us and enriches us, so that we can “abound in every good work” (2 Cor. 9:8).

«Бог всякой благодати» (1Пет. 5:10)

В этих словах мы находим одно из имен, принадлежащих Господу. В Священном Писании мы встречаем много имен Божества. Он есть Бог мира, Бог надежды, Бог всякого утешения; здесь апостол называет Его Богом «всякой благодати». Это слово покрывает собою всякую нашу нужду. «Бог же силен обогатить вас всякою благодатью» (2Кор. 9:8).

От нас требуется покорность Его воле, упование на Его любовь и милосердие для того, чтобы пребывать постоянно у источника Его бесконечной, непрестанной, всепобеждающей благодати. Никто из нас не знает, что такое благодать, пока мы не научились полагаться на всепрощающую любовь Господа к нам во Христе Иисусе.

Благодать есть незаслуженная милость, ею мы получаем то, чего мы недостойны. Она превышает всякие достоинства и спасает нас помимо наших заслуг. Но она также отвечает всякой нашей нужде, она восполняет собою пустоту нашу.

Благодать Божия действует в нас не только тогда, когда мы, обремененные грехом и скорбью, приходим к Нему впервые, но и на всем нашем жизненном пути. Каждый час нашей жизни, когда мы, обращенные, примиренные, ходим во свете Лица Его, как члены великой семьи Отца Небесного, она изливается на нас и обогащает нас, чтобы мы были «богаты на всякое доброе дело» (2Кор. 9:8).
