Metropolitan Jonah introduces the Book of Enoch, based on the text "The Complete Book of Enoch", Standard English Version, by Dr. Jay Winter. Met. Jonah provides the historical and canonical context for the book, some of which is discussed in the included introduction “About the Book of Enoch” by David Chariot and in the essay “Text and Context” by Margaret Barker.  The first chapter "The Words of the Blessing of Enoch" of Book 1, "The Watchers", was read. The homework assignment for the next class is to read the essay by Margaret Barker as well as Chapters 2 and 3 of Book 1.
