Our English-language Sunday School concludes its school year each year with an outdoor picnic following the early English Liturgy. This year the picnic will be held on June 9. As it has been for the last several years, the picnic will be held in the backyard of Dcn. John & Matushka Nikki Dean’s home at 2712 Old Briggs Chaney Road in Silver Spring, Maryland, about a 30-minute drive from our church. Weather permitting there’ll be a water slide, bounce house, pickleball court, and playset, along with games and prizes, so kids should bring a change of clothes, bathing suit, and towels. The picnic is not just for kids, though – it’s open to all who wish to attend. There’ll be no meal served in the parish hall that Sunday after the early Liturgy, as everyone leaves after the Liturgy to go to the picnic.
