BEGINNING OF GREAT LENT. Rules for Great Lent. Eating fish is permitted on the Feast of the Annunciation (April 7) and the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem (April 13).
Consumption of wine and oil are allowed on all Saturdays and Sundays of Lent except on Great Saturday (April 19), when only wine is permitted), on April 2, the Eve of the St Andrew Standing, and April 17, Great Thursday.
